Dear Dr. Maharaj,

I arrived at the South Florida Bone Marrow Stem Cell Transplant Institute on Friday, February 20, 2004.  My first interview with Dr. Maharaj was very enlightening and very positive.  His advice was very encouraging and I was able to make up my mind to accept the most aggressive, but most promising treatment – that of eventual stem cell transplant after high dose chemotherapy.

The daily eight hour visits to the clinic proved to be very effective and emotionally and mentally therapeutic.  The daily frequent visits and the monitoring by the nurses, all of which were so friendly and caring, were a service of great comfort.  Their shared experiences and supportive words of advice proved invaluable.  The personal contact with Dr. Maharaj and his attention to every physical and emotional detail was the icing to the detailed preventative medicines administered with each cycle of chemotherapy, to ensure the comfort and well being of the patient.

Even when away from the clinic on evenings and nights, there was that sense of security that there was always a nurse on call and that ready access to the clinic was always available.

After all is said and done, I can honestly say that I was very impressed and very grateful for care treatment that was life giving and extremely professional.

I would like to thank you and your staff for providing me with A one care.  My doctor referred me to your office in April for an initial consultation for Multiple Myeloma. After which I became very nervous about the treatment and the thought of being away from my family became a frightening reality, however, after speaking with you and touring the Institute all fears diminished.

You and your staff are very compassionate, conscientious and most importantly professional.   

I would highly recommended you to anyone I know who is in need of cancer related treatment. The services you provide at the Institute are incomparable to none other.
